Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend the trip?
Any student currently enrolled in the St. Amant High School Band Program, their parents, and younger siblings traveling with their parents. St. Amant High will not be responsible, however, for anyone not enrolled in band at St. Amant High.
Are my children and I guaranteed a spot on the trip?
In the event space or accommodations become limited, priority will be given to participants with contracts in the following order: 1) Band Members and Instructional Staff, 2) Parent/Guardian Chaperones, 3) Children of Chaperones, 4) Other Family Members of Chaperones, 5) Unaffiliated Guests. In this circumstance, all money paid toward the trip will be refunded in full.
How do I determine my rooming arrangements?
All St. Amant High School Band students will be housed in quad rooms with other band members. Chaperones will be housed in same-gender rooms according to their occupancy contract. Spouses and younger children/family members who are not members of the St. Amant High Band will be housed together provided they sign the same occupancy contract. If you are a non-student, please indicate your roommates on your contract when signing. If you do not have a preferred roommate, you will have the option to make that selection after all contracts have been signed.
Can I drive/fly myself and bring my child who is in band with me?
All band students must travel with the band at all times. Students may return home with their parent at the conclusion of the trip. Parents planning to drive/fly themselves will need to purchase a package separate from the band.
Can I extend my trip beyond the dates on the contract?
Everyone traveling with the band must purchase one of our packages. If you wish to extend your stay beyond that time, you must make separate accommodations. The cost of our packages will, however, remain the same.
What are my duties and responsibilities as a parent traveling with the band?
All parents traveling with us are considered chaperones. All chaperones will be responsible for a certain group of students and will be asked to perform certain tasks during the trip. While we expect that you will enjoy your time, please realize that you will have to do some “work.” Remember, we cannot travel without your help.
Can I get a refund if I move, transfer, or am no longer involved with the band?
Since the band must make reservations in your name early on, once the contract is signed, you agree to refund conditions set by the tour company.
Will we do fundraisers to help pay for the cost of the trip?
We will hold several fundraisers to offset the cost of the trip. All profit will be placed in the student’s account. Students will be allowed to fund-raise up to $100 above the total cost of the trip. Any extra money will be given to the student on the day of departure to be used as spending money.
What if I can’t make one of the payments on time?
Please understand that the band is bound by deadlines set by the travel agency. If you cannot make your payment by the date, please let us know. If you are delinquent for a long time, you may forfeit your trip and all money placed in your account.
What happens if the trip is cancelled because of health restrictions?
Please see the APSB Understanding of Payment Document regarding your acknowledgement of financial risk when travelling.
